ROLE SUMMARY: The Lead Event Specialist supports the Hotel Drover Catering & Sales Team by managing event details, coordinating logistics, and ensuring smooth execution from planning through completion. This role plays an important part in delivering memorable experiences that reflect Hotel Drover’s commitment to exceptional hospitality.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to ensure accuracy in all event documentation and execution.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hotel, catering, or event venue experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with event software (Social Table or similar)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Hotel Drover Catering & Sales team with planning, detailing, and executing corporate and social events.
  • Support event data entry and documentation, including event orders, invoices, contracts, and schedules.
  • Coordinate details across departments to ensure accurate communication and execution.
  • Provide onsite support during events as a point of contact for clients, guests, and the banquet team.
  • Assist in the strategic planning of event flow, timeline execution, and culinary coordination to ensure food quality and timely service.
  • Upsell event services and enhancements during the detailing process.
  • Participate in daily sales and catering briefings to align on operational strategy.
  • Join client calls, meetings, and presentations as guided by the sales team.
  • Manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Support the Catering Team’s mission to deliver best-in-class hospitality reflective of Hotel Drover’s brand.
  • All other duties as assigned.
