In addition to the job duties as an ethicist, a Lead Ethicist, working in close partnership with Ethics management, yet largely on their own at local operating units, will ensure all ethics activities are performed and serve as a resource person for Mission Partners in resolving ethics concerns. The Lead identifies, coordinates, and evaluates ethics consultation, policy integration, and education needs for their location. In their designated locations, the lead ethicist implements the ethics strategies and team goals, as determined alongside the center for excellence in ethics. Serves as principal ethics consultant for local committees. Participates in the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of facility ethics educational programs beyond the ethics committees. In collaboration with the center for excellence in ethics, identifies ethics needs locally, which contributes to the overall ethics strategy and agenda. On site work at St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford with monthly visits to Dixon and Ottawa.
