About The Position

The Lead Estimator will oversee a small team of estimators, ensuring timely and accurate bid execution across multiple projects. This role serves as a hands-on leader, supporting the estimating process from plan review to quote solicitation, while coordinating with internal teams and manufacturers.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of mechanical plans and construction documents.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software (training provided).
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; technical training or associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in construction or mechanical systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a leadership or mentoring role is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop cost estimates and coordinate proposals for assigned estimating projects.
  • Supervise and support a small team of estimators in daily bid activities.
  • Review plans and specifications to guide estimating efforts.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers, customers, and sales teams to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
  • Collaborate with bid coordination for project review and job assignment.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior estimators.
  • Ensure bid submissions meet company and customer standards.
  • Serve as a liaison between the estimating team, engineering team, and sales team to facilitate smooth communication.
  • Perform revisions & price updates to estimates as needed and ensure timely completion of bids.
  • Participate in pre-bid coordination and post-bid follow-ups as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
