About The Position

Vertiv is seeking Lead Engineering Technician to support new product development (NPD) for power switching and distribution products. You will build prototypes, fabricate and/or assemble wire harnesses, perform design & drawing reviews, assist with Change Orders (COs), and provide manufacturability feedback in partnership with Design Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME). The role also owns internal orders, prototype part intake/check-in, and build readiness to keep NPDI prototype schedules on track.

Requirements

Associate's degree in engineering/technology or equivalent hands-on experience.
Read/interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings; basic electronics troubleshooting.
Proficiency with hand/power tools equipment
Proficiency in MS Office/Teams

Nice To Haves

Wire harness build experience; familiarity with PLM (PD Cloud) and ERP (ALICE EBS).

Responsibilities

Execute hands-on assembly of mechanical/electrical prototypes; follow build files, test plans, and safety procedures.
Coordinate build readiness: receive, verify (drawing/revision), kit, and stage prototype parts prior to build start.
Build and rework wire/cable harnesses; verify continuity and polarity; document as-built updates.
Participate in CAD/drawing reviews; redline prints and bills of material (BOM); provide design for manufacturability input.
Support engineers with CO preparation tasks in PD Cloud; assist with CCO effectivity follow-through.
Create and track internal/transfer orders; coordinate receiving and reconcile shortages.
Receive and check-in supplier prototype parts; verify against drawings/revisions and PO; update trackers.
Maintain accurate as-built updates, part/assembly redlines, and lessons learned; contribute to NPDI deliverables.
