About The Position

L3Harris is seeking an Engineering Configuration Manager in its Newport, RI location. The configuration manager will be responsible for supporting the documentation, requirements management, integration, and tracking of documents and products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Understand and apply applicable engineering processes.
  • ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE Required at start, with ability to obtain TOP SECRET Clearance Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical services in the development of technical documentation.
  • Compile and review Configuration Item Verification Reports (CIVRs) data (in CMPRO) to document hardware, software, and logistic support baseline for various Submarine System configurations.
  • Identify all hardware from the system level, assembly level, down to the component level, including interface hardware and its connector pin and function identifications, software and firmware, and associated logistic baseline support products.
  • Draft the Preliminary Engineering Change Proposals (PECPs), ECPs, Engineering Change Instructions (ECIs), Temporary Engineering Changes (TEC), applicable to Submarine Defense Systems, using the Configuration Management Professional (CMPRO) database.
  • Monitor and follow technical documentation using specified software.
  • Review pre-test, removal, installation, and post installation test procedures for ECIs and TECs to determine whether the documentation has been properly filled out IAW Government instructions.
  • Provide review comments for PECPs, ECPs, TECs, ECIs, for all Submarine System variants pertaining to technical or logistics accuracy and editorial formatting.
  • Participate throughout the CM Process, by providing and adjudicating comments received during the pre-Configuration Review Board (CRB), CRB and Configuration Control Board (CCB) for all CM and technical documents.
  • Track every stage of the Configuration Review Board workflow in a document tracking status report.
  • Load Alteration data into the NDE-NM module of Navy Data Environment (NDE) database.
  • Develop and submit for Government approval an Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) Certification within the NDE database for backfit installations via Ship-Alts or ECIs.
  • Assist in the adjudication and incorporation of the internal and external by updating the ILS Certification in the NDE-NM database.
  • Maintain and track Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) records in response to reports provided by the government.
  • Provide knowledgeable and proficient on-site users of the CMPRO database to develop, maintain, and update CSA records from the system level, down to the component level for each as-designed, as-built, as-delivered, and as-modified system variants delivered to the Government for shipboard installation.
  • Maintain other information, such as ILS Certifications, failure trends, the status of any change, the history of any change, and the schedules for and status of configuration audits in the CMPro database.
  • Develop plans and schedules for short-term work activities.
