About The Position

The Role: The Lead Engineer position at NCRC Eglin Site is an exciting and fulfilling opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced technical leader. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership for day-to-day operations, planning, directing, and coordinating all engineering efforts, and ensuring that technical performance, engineering costs, and schedules are met. You will also serve as the Contractor's technical spokesperson for projects and/or programs, and advise the Government on schedule, budget, and technical priorities. This is a challenging and rewarding role that will allow you to make a significant impact on the success of the NCRC Eglin Site. Security Clearance: U.S Citizenship and active Secret Security Clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI Things to Consider: · This position will provide technical leadership for day-to-day NCRC Eglin Site operations. · This position will ensure that technical performance, engineering costs, and schedules are met. · Experience building and fostering relationships with key stakeholders is a requirement for the Lead Engineer. The ideal candidate will be advising the government on schedule, budget, and technical priorities; therefore, they need to have strong communication skills. · The Lead Engineer will serve as the Contractor's technical spokesperson for projects and/or programs. · The Lead Engineer will advise the Event Directors and Event Designers on capabilities to meet test/training event requirements.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of related, proven experience in technical management overseeing complex, multi-team projects.
  • Must currently have an active Secret Security Clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI
  • Direct experience with software development and requirements management.
  • Proven experience leading teams to develop new and existing products, solutions, and processes.
  • Intermediate knowledge of enterprise IT concepts, architectures, and systems (compute, network, storage).
  • Basic knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies.
  • Experience with project logistics by managing and balancing project resources across multiple competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to express technical ideas to senior decision makers.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Experience working on government programs with controlled engineering baselines.
  • Familiarity with cyber range tools, including deployment automation, configuration automation, monitoring, and traffic generation.
  • Experience managing a data center of similar or larger scale.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer and information sciences, engineering, mathematics, management information systems, cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to work independently and to collaborate with range and event leadership, event planners, users, and other event stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree with a focus in computer science; or a focus in computer and information sciences, engineering, mathematics, management information systems, cybersecurity, or a related discipline with corresponding experience and demonstrated mastery of relevant computer science topics.
  • 15+ years of related, proven experience in technical management.
  • Experience managing remote and distributed teams.
  • Working knowledge of cyber testing or training.
  • Intermediate knowledge of cybersecurity, including common risks to IT systems
