(dba Dover Food Retail) Job Title: Lead Engineer Worksite Location: 1301 Battery Brooke Pkwy., Richmond, VA 23237 Job Description : Lead new product development by collaborating with cross-functional teams and utilizing the AS400/PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) application to ensure BOM (Bill of Materials) and structural integrity. Develop a high-pressure CO2 platform and manage the project portfolio for the case division. Work on simulation-driven model generation and concept finalization, employing design of experiments to reduce development time. Ensure design robustness through techniques such as DFMEA and PFMEA (to identify and address potential design flaws. Ensure that design calculations and features comply with ASHRAE Standards. Serve as a subject matter expert and oversee modular governance of high-pressure CO2 applications and portfolio management. Apply Dover-specific stage-gate processes for project and stakeholder management. Support and implement Acculine projects to ensure quality and expedite market delivery for commercial cases. Develop an intellectual property (IP) strategy in the area of high-pressure CO2 applications and governance. Manage resource allocation and budget planning for refrigeration subsystems in assigned NPD projects. Deliver quality projects to ensure robustness and provide support to service teams post-market launch. Manage stakeholders, including manufacturing, sales, quality, finance, and project management teams, to ensure product launch readiness and timely escalations. Lead the rapid response team during manufacturing or quality-related deliverables. Telecommuting permitted up to one (1) day per week. International travel required up to 5%. Domestic travel required up to 30%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and seven (7) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the commercial Refrigeration industry.
  • Must have five (5) years of experience with SolidWorks in each of the following technical skills: Creating Parts, Assemblies and Drawings; Validation of interfaces and ensuring Parts are designed and meets the manufacturability requirements; Creating tolerance stackup loops and performing analysis; Ensuring Modularity of components and its mechanisms in accordance to CASE division requirements to minimize the operations complexity and assembly time; Release of design/Drawings for production readiness; and Creating SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and standard documents for the production support.
  • Must have five (5) years of experience in each of the following: AS400 Data Base Management; CAD software including SolidWorks, Creo, and Cetol to develop CAD models and perform tolerance analysis; DFM (Design for Manufacturability); DFA (Design for Assembly); DFS (Design for Serviceability); and Case structure and piping connections.
  • Must have four (4) years of experience in each of the following: Creo- PLM - Product Lifecycle Management; and Engineering tools such as A3 and 8D, in Refrigerated Display Case products.
