Requirements

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of directly related experience in all phases of systems engineering.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and techniques across various operating systems and platforms.
  • Proven ability to work on multi-disciplinary projects requiring integration of multiple technical domains.
  • Experience with the development and application of systems engineering best practices, including cross-functional systems planning and optimization.
  • Master’s degree in an Information Technology (IT)-related field.
  • Must possess an active Secret clearance at time of application.

  • Not required, but knowledge of or certification in specific systems, technologies, or applications may be necessary depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level systems engineering expertise and counsel to project teams and functional/user area managers on systems of the most complex nature.
  • Design, coordinate, and implement major computer systems and subsystems that span multiple functional lines.
  • Oversee integration of new applications with existing systems, ensuring compatibility, efficiency, and minimal disruption.
  • Confer with systems users to assess system utilization and identify modifications that will increase efficiency, facilitate integration, or reduce operating costs.
  • Investigate emerging procedures, technologies, and systems to assess their relevance and potential operational impact.
  • Provide consultative support to applications programmers, software engineers, systems analysts, and computer center operations staff.
  • Participate in the development of systems analysis standards and strategic planning for complex system initiatives.
  • Direct planning and scheduling of systems projects, ensuring alignment with operational priorities and technical requirements.
  • Evaluate system requirements, coordinate work on various subsystems, and provide architectural guidance for engineering complex solutions.
