Responsibilities include knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems. Also, it is responsible for ensuring all Hotel standards are being met. They perform preventive maintenance and respond to all requests to satisfy guests' needs and ensure attractive and safe facilities. In addition, they provide sincere service through actions that display self-confidence, grace and courtesy to guests and colleagues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Thorough understanding of major building systems electrical and mechanical.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Technical proficiency (basic computer applications).
  • Technical proficiency reading and understanding blueprints, wiring schematics.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management discipline.
  • Understanding of hospitality operating systems.
  • Understanding of Rooms Division Departments.
  • Solid judgment and ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Operate effectively in stressful situations.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to adapt to changing guest or other departmental needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing and implementing strategies for the Engineering Department.
  • Assists in managing the operation of the department and related areas.
  • Maximizes use of guest history information to ensure a high level of guest recognition and personalized service.
  • Works closely with contractors and vendors coordinate special requests and services.
  • Maintains a daily log of important information to share with the department.
  • Provides other team members with the information needed to perform their job effectively.
  • Initiates programs to help train and develop the team as it relates to policies and procedures.
  • Orients team members to the department and Hotel and provides on-the-job training on job responsibilities.
  • Prioritizes and assigns work.
  • Provides feedback to the team members and department head on the team members' performance of job responsibilities.
  • Inspect completion of requests by reviewing daily assignments.
  • Reacts to needs and department requests to maintain the entire Facility by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades.
  • Responds to facility challenges or requests throughout the hotel to make necessary.
  • Works with all other departments to make necessary repairs to ensure safety and security.
  • repairs and or accommodate team members and guests.
  • Maintains all inspection and log sheets to ensure proper preventive maintenance of operation of mechanical and physical structures of the Hotel.
  • Visually inspects, diagnoses problems, takes measurements, and makes necessary repairs on equipment as needed to reduce downtime to the facility.
  • Ensures guest satisfaction by maintaining a clean, safe facility while performing maintenance work.
  • Properly cares for equipment and uses it properly to assist with cost control.
  • Interacts with Hotel staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information.
  • Is knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and Hotel policies.
  • Communicate all pertinent information to the Engineering leadership.
  • Upholds all safety standards of Lake Nona Wave Hotel.
  • Can communicate verbally and in writing in English.
  • Can lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 Ibs.
  • Can stand/walk up to 6-8 hours per day.
  • Is a team player and interacts with all guests and fellow team members in a positive and friendly manner.
