About The Position

Bode Nashville is seeking a hands-on, solutions-driven Lead Engineer to oversee the maintenance and engineering operations of the property. This role is responsible for ensuring the hotel operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with brand standards. The Lead Engineer will manage preventative maintenance programs, coordinate repairs, support building projects, and lead the engineering team to deliver an exceptional guest and team member experience. This is both a strategic and working-leader position. It is ideal for someone who thrives with problem solving, takes pride in their craft, and leads by example.

Requirements

  • Experience with hotel engineering or facilities maintenance experience
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and on-call availability

  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of all building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, mechanical, and pool systems
  • Implement and manage a preventative maintenance program for guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations and building codes
  • Conduct routine property inspections and address deficiencies proactively
  • Supervise, train, and schedule engineering team members
  • Provide mentorship and performance feedback to team members
  • Maintain strong communication with department leaders across the hotel
  • Ensure maintenance requests are responded to promptly and resolved efficiently
  • Minimize guest disruptions during repairs or projects
  • Support hotel operations during peak periods and emergency situations
  • Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and capital improvements
  • Obtain bids and manage vendor performance to ensure quality and cost control
  • Assist in planning and executing projects
  • Manage engineering supplies inventory and ordering
  • Assist with departmental budgeting and expense control
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance logs, inspections, and compliance documentation
