About The Position

NDI Engineering Company is seeking a Project Lead Engineer to join our team and support design projects in our Thorofare, NJ office. The ideal candidate will have experience in design of Naval Ship Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) systems; have experience executing design projects, particularly in AutoCAD; possess strong organizational skills and attention to details; and, possess strong communication skills. NDI Engineering Company is a privately-held small business consulting firm. NDI provides engineering and technical services to Government clients chartered with responsibility for the defense of our country. NDI offerings include naval architecture, marine, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering and design services. NDI has an ISO 9001:20015 Certified Quality System and was a prior recipient of the U.S. Small Business Administration Region II, Prime Contractor of the Year Award. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance.
  • Must possess a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree
  • Must have at least 7 years of engineering experience.
  • Must have experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Excellent leadership and communications skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training Certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Organize and assign design tasks in accordance with design process procedures.
  • Identify personnel requirements in support of design development across multiple disciplines
  • Provide instruction, guidance and direction to design developers in execution of the design by providing mentorship and leadership.
  • Review design requirements and establish analyses criteria.
  • Conduct and document analyses supporting the suitability of designs; make design recommendations with engineering sketches of concepts to address design issues.
  • Communicate with the customer technical personnel and others on the project team.
