The resort was named the “Jewel of the Desert” since its opening on February 23, 1929. This gorgeous 39-acre property reopened in May 2021 after undergoing a $150 million restoration. Hotel Website, Instagram, Facebook What you will have an opportunity to do: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist in assigning and verifying completion of routine maintenance to ensure the hotel’s physical structure and operation is maintained to the highest standards ensuring safety and efficiency. This includes all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment. Visually inspect quality of work and assist in the direction of staff in tasks according to performance and productivity standards. Help manage the day-to-day operations of the maintenance shop. This includes maintaining parts and supply inventories, ordering materials, monitoring MMS by assigning work tickets and following up to ensure completeness. Assign, monitor, and follow up on all Preventative Maintenance programs. Assist the Director of Property Operations in administrating programs involving electrical, mechanical, and general construction of repairs and maintenance of existing facilities equipment. Ensure maintenance shop, mechanical rooms, and storage areas are kept clean and in order. Monitor tool room daily to ensure all tools are accounted for and in good condition. When assigned to Pool Mechanic role: Troubleshoot and repair water feature equipment including indoor fountains, outdoor fountains, outdoor pools, outdoor spas, cold plunge and water slides. Maintain the knowledge of the care and maintenance of chemical delivery systems and controllers to maintain proper water balance at all times. Troubleshoot mechanical equipment to include pumps, motors, impellers, controllers, solenoids, pool heaters and pool coolers. Enter bodies of water and slides as needed for required repairs. Communicate with other departments regarding pool maintenance and care that may affect other hotel operations. Schedule and complete preventative maintenance on pool / water equipment. Maintain specific and accurate readings on all bodies of water as scheduled and required. What are we looking for?

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • At least four (4) years experience in maintenance trades to include electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry in a complex facility, required

Nice To Haves

  • Training or Apprenticeship in mechanics, carpentry, HVAC, refrigeration, and/or electrical, preferred
  • EPA Universal Technician Certification, preferred
  • Certification in mechanics, carpentry, HVAC, refrigeration, and/or electrical, preferred
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License, preferred
  • CPR / First Aid Certified, preferred
  • CPO Certification, preferred
