The Facilities Department at MidHudson Regional Hospital is seeking a dedicated individual to maintain plant operations. This role is crucial in establishing and executing a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all equipment within the facility. The successful candidate will maintain communication with all regulatory agencies and will be responsible for planning and managing all repair-related shutdowns of equipment in the plant. Additionally, the position involves providing guidance and support to the Engineering Department's Plant Operations staff and training watch personnel as required. The responsibilities include overseeing the Boiler Plant and the Automated Building Management systems, ensuring that all certifications, permits, and licenses are current. The individual will establish and implement a preventive maintenance program that encompasses high-pressure steam systems, chillers, emergency generators, and other critical equipment. This program aims to ensure continuous reliability while minimizing corrective maintenance and overall maintenance costs. The role also requires maintaining operations, maintenance, and repairs of the plant and auxiliary equipment to comply with governmental regulations. The candidate will assist in troubleshooting complex equipment issues related to steam, air conditioning, and energy management, acting as a liaison with external entities such as gas transportation and electrical transmission. Collaboration with the Director and outside contractors is essential for planning alterations and renovations concerning the steam and chilled water systems. The position also involves maintaining resources, records, and reports on staff training performance and ensuring adequate supplies are on hand. The individual will evaluate equipment and recommend maintenance, repair, upgrade, or replacement as necessary, while also participating in space planning and ensuring the integrity of records before forwarding them to Facilities Management. The role requires working closely with the Facility leadership team to address work-related problems and ensure that the Facilities Department's goals are met efficiently.
