About The Position

The Lead Engineer position at Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services is a technical leadership role responsible for overseeing projects related to the Fires Capabilities Development and Integration Directorate (FCDID) CDI-Cell. The role involves managing the Advanced Fires Integration Test Bed, providing technical management for various projects, and ensuring alignment with customer objectives. The Lead Engineer will apply engineering techniques to develop solutions for technical problems and will be involved in the preparation of operational views and documentation, as well as synchronizing event requirements across multiple organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a scientific field from an accredited college or university.
  • Ten years of progressively complex experience in the design, integration, and analysis of military electronics and computer systems.
  • Active Secret DoD Security Clearance.
  • Demonstrated past experience in an engineering or systems engineering field.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office applications.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring each meets its goals and objectives.
  • Experience in planning, designing, and overseeing projects using engineering principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience configuring and managing Fires-related tactical systems (e.g., ADSI, CDLIM, Fires Gateway, AFATDS, JADOCS, TAIS, AMDWS, FAAD C2).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical expert for the Fires Capabilities Development and Integration Directorate (FCDID) CDI-Cell.
  • Oversee projects supporting test, evaluation, and training events utilizing Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) environments.
  • Manage the Advanced Fires Integration Test Bed as the Technical Lead.
  • Develop support timelines and forecast equipment and personnel resources to align with customer objectives.
  • Provide direct input to Project Event Leads and the Task Order Manager.
  • Apply science and engineering techniques to develop economical solutions to technical problems.
  • Evaluate overall system/design effectiveness, cost, and reliability of military systems.
  • Support development, prototyping, and demonstration at various site locations.
  • Provide briefings on the status of events or portions of the overall program as requested by the Government Customer.
