About The Position

The IT Systems Analyst within the HPS group acts as a specialized technical bridge between high-performance engineering teams and corporate Site IT departments. This role focuses on aligning the unique infrastructure requirements of hardware development—such as lab environments, high-speed networking, and prototype testing—with broader organizational IT standards and security protocols.Detailed Description Engineering Requirements Coordination: Translate complex hardware engineering needs into technical specifications for Site IT, ensuring that compute, storage, and networking resources are available for critical development milestones. Lab Infrastructure Management: Oversee the deployment and maintenance of specialized engineering lab environments, including the integration of server racks, power distribution units (PDUs), and environmental monitoring tools. Network & Security Integration: Collaborate with Site IT to design and manage isolated network segments, VLANs, and firewall exceptions required for testing prototype hardware and firmware without compromising the corporate production environment. Systems Administration & Deployment: Manage the lifecycle of high-performance engineering workstations and servers, including custom OS imaging, BIOS/firmware updates, and driver management specific to HPS requirements. Resource Automation: Develop and maintain scripts (Bash, Python, or PowerShell) to automate the setup of engineering environments and the deployment of specialized software toolchains. Compliance & Data Integrity: Ensure that engineering workflows and unreleased hardware prototypes adhere to corporate IP protection policies and data security standards.

Requirements

  • Operating Systems: Advanced proficiency in Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments, particularly in headless or CLI-driven configurations.
  • Networking Fundamentals: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, PXE booting, and network segmentation protocols essential for hardware bring-up and validation.
  • Hardware Architecture: Deep knowledge of server components, PCIe interfaces, storage protocols (NVMe/SAS), and out-of-band management (IPMI/iDRAC/ILO).
  • Engineering Tooling: Familiarity with hardware design software (EDA/CAD), version control systems (Git/Perforce), and automated build environments.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent hands-on experience in an R&D IT environment.
