The Lead Systems Engineer will be responsible for leading, guiding, and contributing to the systems engineering efforts for Computing Interface Products Systems (CIPS). This role provides technical leadership and assistance to project teams to ensure they deliver on cost, quality, schedule, and technical goals. In this position, you will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for CIPS. You will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for yourself and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. You will execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles while adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements. Responsibilities include being accountable for System and Subsystem Level Design requirements, defining and managing interfaces to all subsystems in compliance with the system solution, and collaborating with the Engineering Project Manager to generate and execute design review matrices and reviews. You will also define System Validation Plans, execute System Validation Testing, and work with Test Engineers to ensure traceability satisfies the project's objectives. As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews, take ownership of technical concepts, solutions, risks/mitigation plans, and engineering cost estimates on proposals. You will maintain broad awareness of technical trends to ensure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work, and responsiveness to customer/program needs. Additionally, you will lead/manage interdisciplinary collaboration with software, hardware, test, safety, maintainability, reliability, and certification teams to assure cradle-to-grave success. Timely communication on significant issues or developments will also be a key part of your role.
