Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related STEM field from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of systems engineering project execution experience.
  • Active or recently inactive US security clearance.
  • US Citizen: This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on military programs.
  • Experience working directly with customers to determine expectations, implicit and explicit requirements.
  • Experience with high design assurance embedded systems preferably in defense, safety critical automotive, aerospace or healthcare.
  • Experience developing automated test procedures using Object Oriented Languages such as Python or C++.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity technologies.
  • Experience with NSA certification processes.
  • Awareness of aerospace standards and regulations such as DO-178, DO-254, etc.
  • Deep understanding of service provider networks including but not limited to connectivity (Ethernet, IPv4), Switching and routing.
  • Familiarity with interfaces including but not limited to analog, discrete, RS-232/422/485, ARINC 429/664/825.
  • Master's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Experience leading and coordinating with internal and external partners.
  • Experience with global cross-functional teams and the ability to work individually and in teams.
  • Passionate about giving and receiving mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Generate system functional requirements from stakeholder expectation.
  • Utilize Cameo to develop a system architecture aligned to requirements.
  • Lead interdisciplinary collaboration with software, hardware, test, safety, maintainability, reliability, and certification teams establishing the best overall design to meet customer needs.
  • Be responsible for system and subsystem-level design requirements. Define and manage interfaces to all subsystems in compliance with the system solution.
  • Conduct component and product integration for maximum performance and operability. Define system validation plans, execute system validation testing, and work with test engineers to ensure traceability satisfies project objectives.
  • Apply critical thinking toward the proactive identification and abatement of technical risk to minimize project impact.
  • Demonstrate expertise and knowledge within multiple technical domains in order to drive an analytical approach towards the development and representation of a holistic mission focused architectural solution.
  • Understand and develop best practices that accelerate LEAN operations and differentiators in the market.
  • Propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address complex problems.
  • Use multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to make decisions.
  • Act as a resource and mentor for less experienced colleagues.
  • Develop skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within the field.
  • Report to senior leadership on technical status of ongoing projects.
  • Respond to requests for information (RFI) and requests for proposal (RFP) providing estimates of resource costs and proposed technical approach.
  • Support the development of product and technical roadmaps.
  • Work closely with the Program Manager (PM) and Engineering Project Manager (EPM) to collaborate with the customer throughout the project.
