About The Position

The Lead Engineer-Stress position is responsible for the structural assessment of structural components using finite element models. The role involves conducting structural analysis to calculate strength margins with limit and ultimate loads, as well as performing global and submodel analysis to determine life for high cycle fatigue (HCF) and low cycle fatigue (LCF) conditions. The engineer will also conduct flange separation analysis for all flanges to assess bolt preload and leakages, and perform min & max fit analysis at snap locations to validate stress, leakage, assembly & disassembly. Additionally, modal analysis will be conducted to calculate natural frequencies. The engineer will validate non-conformances with structural analysis and provide repair methods for components that do not meet Engineering Standard Work (ESW) requirements. Preparation of technical documentation for substantiation and certification reports is also a key responsibility. The role requires coordination with the offshore team on various design and structural analysis issues. Travel and relocation to various unanticipated client sites within the United States is required, with the exact client site location and frequency of travel varying depending on project availability.
