The ideal candidate will apply Human Systems Integration principles to optimize human performance and ensure seamless interaction between users, systems, and environments. This role involves contributing to the design, development, and improvement of aerospace products, systems, and processes. The position requires a strong foundation in human factors engineering, with a focus on applying theory and methods to real-world operational challenges as well as the ability to formally educate others on human factors principles.

  • Apply human factors engineering principles to analyze and improve the interaction between users and aerospace systems, ensuring safety, efficiency, and usability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate human factors considerations into the design and development of aerospace products and systems.
  • Conduct user-centered research, including task analysis, workload assessment, and usability testing, to inform design decisions.
  • Evaluate and optimize human-machine interfaces, ensuring compatibility with user capabilities and limitations.
  • Develop and document human factors requirements, guidelines, and best practices for aerospace systems and processes.
  • Provide expertise in anthropometric analysis, maintainability, and operational ergonomics to enhance system performance and user experience.
  • Support the development of training materials and procedures to ensure effective manufacturability and maintenance.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies in human factors engineering and aerospace operations.
  • Support safety event investigations to help determine root cause and recommend comprehensive corrective actions where human factors are concerned.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Industrial Engineering, Cognitive Psychology or a related field.
  • 3 years' experience in flight line, shop environments OR aircraft maintenance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Master's degree in Human Factors, Ergonomics, or a related field.
  • Experience with digital tools for human factors analysis, such as anthropometric modeling or workload assessment software.
  • Familiarity with aerospace systems, including assembly and maintenance team dynamics, maintenance processes, and human-machine interfaces.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, document findings, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Experience with Reliasoft, Cognitive Task analysis, FMEA, machine learning/AI.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and guidelines related to human factors in aerospace (e.g., FAA, EASA).
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory, including experience designing and delivering training that aligns with this science (storytelling, hands-on practice, applicable real-world examples).
