Location: Grand Rapids, MI or Clearwater, FL This position, which offers a blend of onsite and hybrid work arrangements, is based in Grand Rapids or Clearwater, FL and necessitates a presence in the office for 2-3 days each week. An extensive corporate relocation package is also available for eligible candidates. Job Description Lead Engineer - Electronic Hardware : Performing tasks for any portion in the design lifecycle of a circuit card assembly. Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electric Engineering, or equivalent, from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens.
  • GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
  • A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of board level digital design process from schematic capture, implementation, integration, and verification.
  • Strong professional technical writing and technical communication proficiency.
  • Ability to break down complex problems and apply critical thinking.
  • Familiarity with the Mentor Graphics Expedition Enterprise and Hyperlinx PI/SI.
  • Familiarity with OrCAD PSPICE or LT Spice, Mathcad, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for architecting moderately complex avionic computer hardware systems that include both digital and analog components.
  • Perform the design, simulation and verification of a circuit card assemblies (CCA) and manage the requirements with the applicable tool.
  • Prepare the necessary documentation for product development and certifications.
  • Testing and integration of the circuit card assemblies installed in chassis.
  • Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy.
  • Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the business.
  • May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework.
  • Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures.
  • Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters
  • Explains technical information to others.
