This position is part of the Engineering team located in Vista, CA and will be on-site. You will be a part of the Hardware R&D team and report to the Sr. Manager, Hardware Engineering responsible for design of new products as well as optimization and refinement of our existing products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering (or related field), or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or control system design in a regulated or high-reliability environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with automation or robotics systems, including motion control (servo/stepper motors, drives), CAD, and basic programming (e.g., Python, LabView, C++, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel) and familiarity with statistical or data analysis software.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to make informed technical decisions through risk assessment and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience working with Linux-based systems, including basic administration or networking.

Responsibilities

  • Create new & improve existing motion control system designs, including prototype mechanical, electrical, and opto-mechanical assembly designs and integrations.
  • Collaborate to monitor and improve reliability and performance metrics for electromechanical motion assemblies, proposing & running projects to move the needle.
  • Ensure timely resolution of test fixture, component, and system issues in the factory and in the field to minimize impact on productivity, on-time delivery, and takt time.
  • Own Engineering Changes - including, but not limited to, mechanical & electrical design, prototype coding & build, test & data collection, verification, validation, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development by identifying design inputs, generating design outputs, and ensuring traceability and compliance to regulatory and safety requirements.
