About The Position

Bechtel is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Energy Management System Engineer with experience in detailed designing of Plant/Grid EMS, automation and digital control solutions. The candidate will ensure operational safety, reliability, and efficiency through precise system integration. Exposure to Indian, US, Euro and other foreign codes/standards and local practices is essential.

Requirements

  • A recognized bachelor's/master's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum overall experience of 18 years.
  • Site experience will be an added advantage.
  • Possess a broad understanding of the major design engineering deliverables.
  • Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates detailed phases of engineering work in a project or staff group.
  • Experience with SCADA configuration, tuning, and testing.
  • Understanding of industry or regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline.
  • Skill in oral and written communication and writing technical reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in configuring EMS software, such as Hitachi Network Manager.
  • Experience in designing HMI displays and developing system data models.
  • Conducting extensive testing (PreFAT, FAT, SAT).
  • Understanding engineering planning and control methods including computerized methods.
  • Understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects including basic construction practices and the economics involved.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, coordinates and reviews engineering work within a discipline on a project or assignment in a global business unit.
  • Supervises the day-to-day technical work of discipline engineers, specialists, designers and drafters.
  • Conducts annual performance reviews for direct reports in accordance with approved procedures and holds career development discussions.
  • Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly.
  • Estimates staffing needs and schedules and assigns work to meet schedule dates.
  • Coordinates with client representatives as delegated to obtain their approval on phases of work.
  • Reviews and approves key engineering drawings and calculations, including field and design documents relating to the discipline.
  • Coordinates assigned engineering work with other project groups.
  • Ensures that engineers supervised receive appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development.
