Responsible for the development and implementation of plans and procedures for the testing and commissioning of highly complex transmission and distribution substation projects. Works closely with Station Operations, Field Engineering, and Protection & Controls Engineering in the development of project test and commissioning plans with a focus on ensuring safety and eliminating issues and errors during the commission process. Responsible for commissioning of substation equipment as individual units (breakers, transformers, etc.) as well as overall project commission including controls, systems, relays, metering, etc. The Lead Substation Commissioning Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive testing and commissioning plans for complex transmission and distribution substation projects. This role collaborates closely with Station Operations, Field Engineering, and Protection & Controls Engineering to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient commissioning processes. The position also serves as an equipment specialist within the Substation Technical Organization, contributing to emergency spare equipment strategy, integration of remote monitoring technologies, and health diagnostics of substation assets.
