About The Position

Capital Veterinary Specialists is seeking a Lead Emergency/ICU Technician to help lead our amazing team! This position involves providing day-to-day coaching and supervision of Technician team members, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, and conducting hospital safety meetings at least every 6 months. The Lead Technician will maintain and oversee Radiology compliance, including dosimetry badge reports and exchanges, exposure checks for protective equipment, and patient logs. Additionally, the role includes maintaining PPE logs, overseeing cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment, and ensuring that all policies and procedures are reviewed by the Medical Director prior to implementation. The Lead Technician will work closely with Department Leads to ensure efficient departmental operations and oversee the training of new team members, providing regular feedback and conducting employee evaluations.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years emergency/ICU experience required.
  • 1 year leadership experience preferred.
  • RVT/CVT preferred.
  • Some nights/weekends required.
  • Occasional on-call.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day coaching and supervision of Technician team members.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and train team members appropriately.
  • Conduct hospital safety meetings at least every 6 months.
  • Maintain and oversee Radiology compliance, including dosimetry badge reports and exchanges.
  • Maintain PPE logs and ensure appropriate PPE is available.
  • Oversee cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain Policies & Procedures for the medical team.
  • Work with Department Leads to ensure efficient departmental operations.
  • Oversee training of new team members and provide regular feedback.
  • Perform employee evaluations and reviews for technical team members.
  • Drive accountability of team members in achieving goals.
  • Facilitate clear communication within the leadership team and with clients.
  • Demonstrate and reinforce high levels of client service.
  • Resolve client issues and oversee follow-up communication.
