About The Position
Join Ultra Intelligence and Communications (I&C) in our Tampa, FL office as a Lead Embedded Software Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in developing advanced cryptographic solutions that protect military communications. This position is pivotal in driving the development of cutting-edge embedded systems using System-on-Chip (SoC) technology within a dynamic, mission-driven environment. You will lead mid-size projects, providing expert technical guidance and mentoring to the software team, ensuring the seamless integration of embedded systems. Your responsibilities will include supporting the technical design and development of embedded systems, performing trade studies, and developing architecture. You will also be responsible for high-level design and allocation of requirements to subsystems, as well as creating essential engineering documents such as Software/Hardware Requirements Specifications (SHRS), Interface Requirements Specifications (IRS), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and Software Hardware Design Descriptions (SHDD). In this role, you will define unit, integration, and acceptance test plans, perform Configuration Management for software developmental items, and support both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies. You will provide written and oral progress updates, support technical proposal development, and participate in process/tool improvements to drive quality initiatives. Interacting with customers for project status and requirement development will be a key part of your role, as will keeping abreast of new technologies that can benefit the projects and business. You will pursue ongoing professional development and share knowledge among the team, contributing positively to the team's productivity and engagement to ensure timely and quality delivery of program objectives. Understanding business objectives, priorities, and the company's vision will be essential as you proactively assess and adjust the team's objectives, priorities, and tasks to remain aligned with higher-level goals.
