About The Position

The Lead Elf Assistant at Cherry Hill Programs is responsible for managing a small team of Santa's Helpers during the holiday season. This role requires a creative and child-centered mindset, as the assistant will engage with children and families, ensuring a magical experience. The position involves supporting the Local Manager in various tasks, including team training, customer service, and maintaining a festive atmosphere.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Strong teamwork and organizational skills.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service with a friendly attitude.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to process sales transactions and comfortable with cash handling.
  • Professional attire and good hygiene are a must.
  • Available to attend mandatory pre-season training.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work during peak retail hours, such as evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Available to work a minimum of 20 hours a week or as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous retail/assistant manager experience preferred.
  • Photography experience preferred.
  • Ability to stand for long periods while maintaining a festive demeanor.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 10-25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a positive, collaborative environment and maintain core values and policies.
  • Assist Lead Elf (Local Manager) with preparations for the opening day including hiring, inventories, equipment setup/testing, staff scheduling and training.
  • Take high-quality photos of families and children with Santa.
  • Help with Elf recruitment and training.
  • Support fellow Elves with crowd control, photo sessions, or engaging with guests.
  • Create a magical, Elf-friendly atmosphere and resolve customer issues with holiday cheer.
  • Ensure proper setup and operation of the Santa Set.
  • Lead by example and reinforce policies and procedures established by senior management.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate to IT or Local Management when needed.
  • Assist Local Manager with administrative tasks such as inventory, scheduling, training and/or recruiting.
