About The Position

Lead Elevator Operator Your Role: To run the elevator efficiently and ensure everything is done safely and accurately. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong reading comprehension, writing, math, and communication skills.
  • Strong work planning and decision-making skills.
  • Analytical skills to recognize and assess problems.
  • Interpersonal skills – communication and team skills.
  • Communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
  • Basic computer skills (data entry, spreadsheets, outlook).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to work shifts as assigned
  • Maintain good work attendance
  • Able to work with minimum supervision, self-motivated
  • Team members must be clean shaven to perform tasks where respiratory protection is required, and the use of a respirator (including N-95 dust mask) requires a proper seal for adequate protection.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs, multiple times per day
  • Climb ladder, step and extension, and work from heights and in confined spaces
  • Work in hot and cold conditions
  • Work in indoor and outdoor environments
  • Wear the required PPE
  • Able to lift to 50 pounds and exert 20 pounds of force
  • Able to work in dusty environment and wear respiratory protection
  • Able to work in noisy environment and wear ear protection
  • Frequently stand, walk, rotate, bend/stoop, twist, crouch, kneel, balance and reach at shoulder level and below shoulder level

  • Experience with mobile equipment, including Trackmobile, Forklift, Bobcat.

Responsibilities

  • Safe and efficient operation of Pulse handling equipment and systems.
  • Must know all procedures to efficiently operate all elevator operations. This includes scales, railcars, trucks and properly administering a yearly Weigh-up
  • Daily tasks in the process of receiving, shipping, and transferring of product from storage bins.
  • Inspect and maintain condition of product on a routine basis.
  • Assist in the grading of incoming product.
  • Maintain accurate and reliable inventory, including weekly and monthly bin measurements to verify book to bin inventory.
  • Crosstrain in other positions to provide relief duties as needed.
  • Effective troubleshooting of equipment and take corrective action as needed.
  • Comply with Master Sanitation Schedules and perform daily housekeeping assignments
  • Maintain accurate inventory spreadsheet/whiteboard daily. This spreadsheet is a key element in communication between merchants and lab. It must be kept accurate at all times.
  • Communicate in a timely manner when breakdowns or problems occur in the process, which need immediate attention.
  • Operate Forklift and other forms of mobile equipment.
  • Enter data into plant control system for record keeping.
  • Complete all month end reporting timely.
  • Operation of automated, computer-controlled cleaning house as needed.
  • Communicate with truck drivers and dispatchers.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and correct them in a timely and most economical manner.
  • Be able to identify mechanical issues and correct them efficiently.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance of equipment and its supporting documentation including but not limited to bucket elevator legs, screws, and drags as well as lubrication.
  • Routine elevator and mobile equipment inspections.
  • Assist in all grain audits
  • Working knowledge of elevator inventory and Pulse’ consumption and ability to communicate Pulse inventory concerns to Quality Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
