About The Position

We’re looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to establish and grow our electrical engineering practice in Austin. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
  • 15+ years of Electrical Engineering experience in the building design industry
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Strong proficiency with Autodesk MEP Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Outlook, and Microsoft Office
  • Deep technical understanding of electrical systems, including advantages, limitations, cost implications, and energy efficiency

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical engineering design for various building types
  • Serve as Engineer-in-responsible-charge, making technical decisions, reviewing, stamping, and signing Construction Documents
  • Provide leadership, communication, training, mentorship, continuous assignments, and feedback to team members
  • Drive business development by identifying market opportunities and participating in firm-wide project interviews
  • Support project interviews, prepare fee proposals, and assist with contract negotiations
  • Schedule project workloads, represent Cushing Terrell in meetings, and assist in strategy sessions
  • Review design packages and provide clear technical direction to project teams
  • Direct activities of workers and consultants preparing drawings and specifications
  • Manage the financial aspects of projects, balancing strong client relationships with business goals
  • Execute supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining team members, addressing complaints, and resolving issues
  • Act as a resource/advisor for continuing education topics/needs
  • Engage actively in professional development
