About The Position

The company is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to play a critical role in the design and execution of advanced electrical systems for mission-critical data center facilities. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, this is a highly cross-functional leadership role responsible for electrical plant design across the full product lifecycle—from early concept through construction, commissioning, and ongoing operations. This position offers the opportunity to influence core technology decisions, champion innovation in power systems engineering, and serve as the technical authority for HV and MV electrical infrastructure across multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience in the design, construction, and operation of electrical systems for mission-critical facilities (data centers, hospitals, or similar environments).
  • 8+ years of overall electrical engineering experience, with deep expertise in HV and MV power systems.
  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing cross-functional projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with switchgear, transformers, distribution panels, protection systems, and power system studies.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards, including NEC, IEEE, and NFPA 70E.
  • Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives from concept through execution in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and review of electrical schematics, drawings, and specifications for HV and MV systems, including switchgear, transformers, distribution panels, and protection systems.
  • Perform and oversee detailed power system studies such as load flow analysis, short-circuit analysis, and protective device coordination.
  • Develop installation, testing, and commissioning plans; coordinate closely with contractors and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations (NEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, etc.).
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in power systems engineering, evaluate applicability to Verrus platforms, and advocate for internal adoption.
  • Own power system performance and issue resolution throughout the entire project lifecycle, including design, procurement, bidding, manufacturing, delivery, and on-site installation.
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment, quality, and timely execution.

Benefits

  • Total cash compensation: $350,000–$400,000 (base salary plus bonus)
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Equity or long-term incentive opportunities (as applicable)
