About The Position

Under the direct supervision of a physician, performs echocardiography procedures according to HHC's philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures. Assures the effective daily operation of the department. Leads the assigned cardiology practices in such tasks as quality and safety, education, maintenance and accreditation.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Echocardiography program
• Board certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) required.
• Five years' experience in Echocardiography
• State of CT Echocardiographer License

Nice To Haves

• Previous lead/supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Leads effective daily operation of the Echocardiology Department ensuring that patient exams and physician requests are met in a timely and efficient manner.
• Participates in the activities required to maintain departmental ICAEL certification assuming the role of Technical Director and the formulation of continuous quality and performance improvement plans, updated department procedures, physician and staff information, and competencies.
