About The Position

As one of our Teachers in our Intergenerational Childcare Center (ICC), you would work closely with other program staff to support their work with children and at times works independently in planning and implementing activities for the children. In this role you will be familiar with Center policies, procedures and philosophy as well as licensing laws and regulations. You would help to maintain an orderly, secure, and mentally stimulating environment for children. Help to plan and implement an ongoing program of all activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child. Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions for a group of children. Cultivate positive relationships with the children, families, teachers, and staff. Implement school curriculum and assess developmental needs of students. The childcare center at Bayview has children ranging in age from 3 months to 5 years old. This position is all on site at our location in Lower Queen Anne, Seattle, Washington.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • College level courses towards earning an Associate of Arts Degree or a Child Development Associate Degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated willingness to continue attending educational offerings.
  • Prior experience working with infants.
  • Meets or exceeds the minimum licensing requirements for certifications (i.e., CPR, HIV/AIDS, First Aid, Food Handlers Permit).
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Treats parent/child information in a confidential manner.
  • Possesses good communication skills.
  • Possesses good problem solving skills.

Nice To Haves
