Job Summary: We are currently seeking an energetic & outgoing DSP who is compassionate and would provide exceptional care and ensure the safety and well-being of an outgoing young lady in her home and community. This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to making a positive impact in the life of this young lady and also, be a positive influence and assisting her in making responsible choices. She is an animal lover, has a dog, and her interests include indoor rock climbing, swimming, movies, concerts and dancing. She has many outdoor interests that keep her busy during the day. She would need assistance with personal cares, cooking, meal planning and activities.

Requirements

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Compassion and a desire to help others
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Valid US driver's license
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
  • 2-3 years of DSP experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Knowledge of resident rights and person-centered care approach.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect privacy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Administer medication and monitor vital signs under the supervision of a nurse
  • Implement individualized care plans and ensure resident rights are respected
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment
  • Provide companionship and engage individuals in recreational activities
