About the position
The Lead Data Science/Machine Learning Engineer will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of machine learning models and data science solutions at Sephora. This role requires a strong background in software engineering, machine learning, and natural language processing, with a focus on collaboration with business stakeholders to drive impactful results. The position is based in San Francisco and requires onsite presence for three days a week.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning, data science, or artificial intelligence.
- Strong proficiency in Python/Pyspark.
- Experience following software best practices in team settings, including version control (Git), CI/CD, documentation, & unit testing.
- Experience using common NLP and/or ML Python frameworks, such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Transformers/Hugging Face, and NumPy.
- Strong background and experience in natural language processing, machine learning, and deep learning.
- Hands-on experience with LLM skills including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, LLMOps, function-calling, and retrieval augmented generation (RAG) strongly preferred.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure or similar cloud computing ecosystem preferred.
- Experience with DevOps/MLOps/LLMOps strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team to work productively with business stakeholders.
