About The Position

Tricont Trucking is currently seeking a Lead Class A Truck Driver to join our Distribution Center (“DC”) The Lead Class A Truck Driver plays a vital role in ensuring the company’s continued success. This position requires a person to be dependable, focused on safety and requires a person be flexible and cooperative. The Lead CDL Driver should have all the skills of a CDL Driver and possess the ability to successfully driver, train, and mentor CDL Drivers. At Tricont Trucking We Expect Results! Why Join Us? Requirements

  • Six (6) months to One (1) year Lead Driver or Supervisory experience overseeing a staff of drivers
  • Class A CDL Driver’s License
  • Clean MVR
  • Ability to pass the Tricont Trucking background check and a DOT physical including functional capacity exam and drug screen
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Demonstrated ability of dealing effectively and in a cooperative manner with personnel/departmental staff
  • Knowledge of DOT Regulations
  • Commitment to working as a team member for the benefit of the organization
  • 2 years recent Class A driving experience; a minimum of 6 months to a year Lead Driver experience and/or related experience overseeing staff.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with the Regional Transportation Manager, dispatch supervisor, and other members of the DC Operations Team to understand the expectations of the Lead Driver position.
  • Become familiar the DC routes, processes and policies
  • Do ride along with drivers and learn the various routes.
  • Continue expanding the assigned duties to include driver ride along, paperwork process for DOT, etc.
  • Identify the Terminals strengths, weaknesses and opportunities
  • Responsible for assigning drivers to loads· Responsible for assigning Trucks/Trailers to Dispatch
  • Dispatching throughout the day
  • Scheduling Driver including PTO scheduling
  • Monitoring Elog, HOS, DVIR, vehicle inspections for accuracy
  • Monitoring Elog system for unidentified driving and safety alerts
  • Safety – Ride-A-Longs/Pre-Post Trip Observations
  • Maintain All Equipment/Rentals
  • Schedule PM/Maintenance through venders
  • Work with Regional and Fleet manager through PO issuing
  • Enter Payroll into the TMS system
  • Review Payroll daily for accuracy
  • Accident Reporting
  • Monitor Quarterly Random Testing program
  • Monitor Monthly Training Program
  • Quarterly Safety Meetings
  • Paperwork retention (Scanning to TMS)
  • Hiring Company/Lease drivers
  • Training new drivers
  • Cover routes when needed
  • Other duties that apply
