About The Position

The Lead Drafter position within Raytheon's Life Cycle Engineering Organization focuses on providing drafting expertise for the design of various product deployments and facility-related engineering drawings. This role is essential in supporting the design team, which includes licensed professional engineers specializing in civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical engineering, particularly in environments related to radar, air traffic control, and military defense systems. The Lead Drafter will primarily work remotely but may need to travel occasionally for meetings.

Requirements

• Experience in CAD technology and drafting.
• Experience in developing construction drawing packages for complex designs.
• Understanding of drafting standards and their maintenance across various programs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

• Prior radar site design experience and/or federal government contract experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD Land Development, GIS, SolidWorks, Frameworks 3D, MicroStation, and ArcView.
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-tasking environment.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to produce facility design and as-built drawings, focusing on civil design.
• Ensure adherence to established drawing standards and technical coordination with engineers.
• Provide drafting solutions under the technical direction of existing team members.
• Support project engineers by deriving drafting solutions.
• Utilize AutoCAD and other software tools to create detailed layouts and construction drawings.
