About The Position

The Lead Doctor at VEG is responsible for supporting the medical team to maintain medical excellence. This role involves coaching and developing fellow doctors, executing patient safety initiatives, and leading medical processes and strategies. The Lead Doctor will also promote a culture of inclusivity and equitable treatment within the team and for customers, ensuring a safe environment for all.

Requirements

• Have earned a DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree.
• A minimum of 2-3 years of ER experience.
• 1 year leadership experience preferred, but not required.
• Flexible to work a combination of clinical and administrative shifts.
• Extensive experience with managing critical cases.

• Trained in emergency surgery/endoscopy.

Responsibilities

• Coach fellow doctors on medical excellence and the VEG Way.
• Support fellow doctors through their assigned growth and development plans.
• Initiate team huddles and provide motivational encouragement to the team.
• Recognize team members for small medical and cultural wins.
• Establish rapport with all staff to maintain VEG culture.
• Execute patient safety initiatives as determined by local leadership.
• Create doctor schedules and manage leave requests.
• Address customer complaints related to medical concerns.
• Lead monthly doctor meetings and M&M rounds.
• Support MD strategy for doctor recruitment marketing and succession planning.
