About The Position

Reporting to VP of Finance, the Lead Disbursements Specialist is responsible for the coordination of the Hospital's payroll process to ensure timely and accurate payment of wages and reporting to all appropriate departments. In addition, this position is responsible for the organization and administration of the Accounts Payable process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from four-year College or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to three years hospital-related experience in Disbursements/Purchasing
  • Experience utilizing a payroll system, ADP preferred
  • Experience with Meditech, Meditech Expanse preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accuracy of bi-weekly payroll-recording hours work, processing time records, compiling payroll statistics, and maintaining payroll control records.
  • Responsible for payroll records, processing paychecks, retro paychecks, withholds via check & wire, and payroll procedures and documentation
  • Maintains written procedures for all payroll department functions
  • Adjust payroll errors and respond to issues
  • Serves as liaison between Human Resources, Information Systems, and other departments in coordinating and testing payroll system updates, enhancements, and changes
  • Working in conjunction with accounting under guidance of the VP of Finance, and HR to keep Loretto Hospital compliant with changes in state, federal, and local tax codes
  • Ensure compliance with all government reporting in Meditech and ADP.
  • Interprets and comply with company policies and union contract agreements.
  • Manages own time in a productive and reliable manner completing work assignments.
  • Completes appropriate volume of work while maintaining quality standards.
  • Organize work procedures to generate acceptable levels of productivity
  • Coordinates and develops Disbursement staff
  • Ensure the accuracy of weekly vendor disbursements
  • Understands and adheres to Loretto Hospital’s compliance standards as they appear in the Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Hospital regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
  • Ensures that the staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.
