LEAD DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL
About The Position
The Lead Direct Support Professional (LDSP) supports the Site Supervisor in maintaining daily program operations while providing direct support to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and behavioral health needs in community-based homes. In addition to Direct Support Professional duties, the LDSP mentors and supports staff, models professional interactions, and helps ensure Individual Service Plans (ISPs) are implemented effectively. This role promotes independence, safety, and person-centered care for the individuals we serve. A commitment to RHD’s values and person-centered approach is essential.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with individuals with IDD or behavioral health needs
- Basic computer skills (email, documentation systems, timekeeping)
- Understanding of trauma-informed care
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience
- Child Abuse Clearance
- Criminal Background Check
- FBI Clearance (if applicable)
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed
- Medium lifting requirement (up to 50 lbs occasionally)

Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and supervision to individuals in residential settings
