About The Position

At Dungarvin, a mission-driven team established in 1976, the focus is on providing person-centered support to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities or other complex medical needs, enabling them to live as independently as possible. The Lead Direct Support Professional coordinates services for individuals, covering finance, medical, recreation, program services, family contact, education, and household management. This role involves providing direct support, positive direction, instruction, and hands-on assistance to ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals served, while empowering them to maintain dignity and respect. Requirements

  • A successful background clearance is required as part of the onboarding/employment process
  • Good communication skills (reading, writing, and verbal) to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with both internal and external team members.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate services to the individuals served, including finance, medical, recreation, program services, family contact/involvement, education, and household management.
  • Provide direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities.
  • Empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect.
  • Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
  • Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
  • Perform housekeeping and laundry duties.
  • Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, personal hygiene and more.
  • Assist with financials and documentation.
