About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Lead Direct Care Support to join our team at our IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) Residential Home. This leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities by providing high-quality care, support, and guidance. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in behavioral health or related field preferred
  • Proven experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Knowledge of behavioral intervention techniques and positive behavior support strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle challenging behaviors with patience and professionalism
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks as required

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor Behavioral Health Technicians to ensure the delivery of consistent, person-centered care
  • Facilitate training and ongoing education for staff on behavioral health strategies and best practices
  • Support clients during community outings and recreational activities
  • Collaborate with team members, families, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management
  • Monitor and document residents' progress, behaviors, and needs accurately and timely
  • Provide direct support to residents, assisting with daily activities, behavioral interventions, and skill development
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and organizational policies
  • Act as a liaison between residents, families, and healthcare professionals to promote effective communication and support
  • On-Call is required with this position.
  • Be familiar with The Wood Group’s policy and procedures to include employee handbook.
