About The Position

Then being a Lead Direct Care Professional at Devereux is for YOU! You belong here. Located on a beautiful 10-acre campus in the heart of Scottsdale, Devereux Arizona's 24-hour Residential Treatment Center (RTC) has the capacity to serve 52 children. The RTC is a safe, supportive environment that provides various services to youth, from the ages of 7 to 17, who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, or substance abuse challenges. The Campus features dormitories, a therapeutic K-12 day school, food services, medical/nursing, and therapy services. Lead Direct Care Professional (Lead DCP) coordinate and maintain a therapeutic environment for our Residential Treatment Center. This position protects the health and safety of individuals, and assists Program Coordinators with the supervising, planning, and implementation of program activities while managing children's behaviors. Lead DCP's serve as a mentor and have fun with kids doing various year-round activities such as art projects, music groups, animal therapy, various athletics (basketball, soccer, Frisbee, etc), and adulthood transition prep! The Lead DCP will assist and support the planning, implementation, and documentation of those activities designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of individuals on Campus. This position also serves as a role model, mentor, leader, and/or trainer to Direct Care Professional staff.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in human services preferred.
  • One (1) year of work experience in behavioral health service delivery or Six (6) months Devereux experience.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License is required.
  • Must be able to pass 36-month DMV check.
  • Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable).
  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer with negative results.
  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and maintain a therapeutic environment for the Residential Treatment Center.

  • Serve as a mentor and engage in fun activities with children.
  • Plan, implement, and document activities to meet the needs of individuals on Campus.
  • Act as a role model, mentor, leader, and/or trainer to Direct Care Professional staff.
