About The Position

The World Bank is seeking a Lead Digital Specialist for the Digital Safeguards unit, which focuses on developing the World Bank's approach to digital safeguards, including cybersecurity, data protection, and trust services. The position involves shaping the strategy and work program for the cybersecurity team, supporting client engagements, and building partnerships with various stakeholders. The role is critical in ensuring the World Bank's objectives in digital transformation are met, particularly in enhancing cybersecurity and data privacy for institutions, businesses, and citizens.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD degree in digital technology/computer sciences, public policy, private sector development, economics, laws, technology, or another relevant field.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in positions of increasing complexity and responsibility.
• Excellent technical knowledge and experience in cybersecurity.
• Proven leadership skills and supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated experience working across practices and institutional boundaries.
• Ability to influence dialogue and policy on digital infrastructure.
• Strong strategic sense and ability to prioritize activities.
• Good partnership experience involving multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in applying practice know-how to achieve development results.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a strategic vision for the cybersecurity business line.
• Develop and curate global knowledge and thought leadership in cybersecurity.
• Support client engagement by providing technical and operational expertise.
• Mitigate cyber risks across the Bank's investment program.
• Communicate and share knowledge effectively with various stakeholders.
• Build partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including governments and private sector companies.
• Build and lead a cohesive and high-performing business line team.
