About The Position

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Lead Diesel Mechanic/Technician in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin! The Diesel/Trailer Mechanic is responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of medium to heavy-duty fleet vehicles and trailers to ensure a safe and efficient operation. The Diesel Mechanic position requires high level of proficiency and working knowledge related to repairing and maintenance of Class 7 - 8 trailers, heavy-duty Diesel Engine diagnosis and repair. Comprehension of Fleet Maintenance operations, understanding of electrical, preventative maintenance and DOT inspection experience and knowledge. We do not have over-the-road Tractors; our Diesel Engines are Kalmar & Ottawa. Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday! $35-$43 per hour, DOE Potential Bonus up to $2500! Knowledge of hand-held scan tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles. Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.) Working Conditions: Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job. Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes, and noise. Exposure to chemicals, oils, grease,s or other irritants Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance Ability to move and position heavy objects Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel,l and crawl to repair vehicles Ability to work outside in various weather conditions. Requirements

  • At least 5 years’ experience performing vehicle maintenance, or must possess an auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school
  • Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if it is operating properly
  • Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.
  • Knowledge of hand-held scan tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles.
  • Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial Driver’s License class "A" or "B" preferred
