Connexure is hiring a Lead DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines that power our next-generation platforms. This role combines hands-on DevOps engineering, Azure cloud architecture, and security-driven automation to deliver reliable, compliant, and efficient solutions for mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will lead the development of robust and secure CI/CD pipelines, ensuring DevSecOps and release management best practices are embedded across the organization. As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will identify end-to-end DevOps solutions, leverage automation and best practices, and partner with application teams on their DevOps journey. This key role involves designing, building, and deploying cloud-based applications on the Azure platform while collaborating across teams to improve efficiency, security, and delivery speed.

  • Design, build, and operate secure, resilient, and scalable cloud infrastructure across Azure and hybrid environments.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure automation and orchestration frameworks using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Define and lead the reliability and cloud infrastructure strategy, ensuring alignment with business and product goals.
  • Proven experience designing, deploying, and managing Azure environments across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and hybrid cloud models.
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes for microservices-based and SaaS applications.
  • Continuously improve and optimize workflows to enhance efficiency, reliability, and release velocity.
  • Implement scalable CI/CD platforms to support high change volumes and fast feedback loops using tools like Azure DevOps, and GitHub.
  • Integrate automated testing, quality gates, and security scanning into every stage of the pipeline.
  • Develop pipelines as code for consistency and traceability.
  • Manage and optimize code repositories, ensuring proper branching, merging, and versioning practices.
  • Implement tools and processes to improve code review workflows and integration consistency.
  • Establish repository standards to support collaborative development and release readiness.
  • Develop and oversee the release management process, ensuring smooth and coordinated deployments.
  • Implement automated release tools that support seamless rollbacks, audit trails, and environment validation.
  • Collaborate with QA and product teams to define release readiness criteria and scheduling.
  • Drive improvements to release quality, traceability, and deployment safety across environments.
  • Integrate security and compliance controls throughout the CI/CD lifecycle.
  • Embed DevSecOps practices for vulnerability scanning, code analysis, and secrets management.
  • Partner with Security, QA, and Architecture teams to develop secure-by-design pipelines and environments.
  • Research emerging DevSecOps technologies and implement improvements to enhance automation and compliance.
  • Implement monitoring and logging solutions (Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure infrastructure health and performance.
  • Automate alerts and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) processes for pipeline and deployment incidents.
  • Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, latency issues, or resource constraints.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud costs, right-size compute and storage resources, and implement cost governance policies.
  • Use Azure Cost Management and tagging strategies to align cloud spend with business priorities.
  • Manage configuration drift and maintain consistent environments across Dev, Test, UAT, Stage, and Production.
  • Implement configuration management tools to enforce compliance and policy alignment.
  • Define environment baselines and validate them via automated controls.
  • Enforce change management standards and ensure all deployments follow traceable, auditable workflows.
  • Integrate approvals, rollback plans, and change records directly into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Maintain compliance with Connexure’s governance frameworks and external audit requirements.
  • Partner with engineering, QA, and operations teams to align development, deployment, and monitoring strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders on release progress, infrastructure performance, and incident updates.
  • Represent DevSecOps in executive and client-facing forums, providing updates and technical insights.
  • Collaborate across departments to drive a unified approach to automation, observability, and delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, SOC 2, and HiTrust standards and Connexure’s internal security policies.
  • Conduct regular security audits, threat assessments, and vulnerability scans.
  • Implement least-privilege access controls and policy enforcement using Azure-native tools.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure continuous risk mitigation and adherence to compliance frameworks.
  • Own and evolve the DevOps toolchain (CI/CD, IaC, monitoring, secrets management, artifact storage).
  • Implement metrics and dashboards for DevOps KPIs (deployment frequency, lead time, MTTR).
  • Drive continuous improvement through feedback loops, retrospectives, and cross-functional learning.
  • Research and integrate emerging technologies to modernize Connexure’s DevSecOps ecosystem.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in Azure DevOps engineering, with a focus on CI/CD automation, code repository management, and release management.
  • Strong expertise in CI/CD tools and platforms (Azure DevOps, GitLab).
  • Proficient in version control systems (Git) and branching/merging best practices.
  • Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure and IaC frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to integrate security and compliance controls into DevOps workflows.
  • Experience in the healthcare or insurance sector is a plus.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and HIPAA compliance preferred.
  • Enjoy competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and professional growth opportunities.
