Requirements

  • 7+ years of cumulative experience in IT, with at least 5 years specifically focused on AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud environments.
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing a team in a DevOps or similar capacity.
  • Expertise in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and container technologies like Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Proficient in implementing CI/CD pipelines and IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
  • Solid grasp of network security concepts, preferably within AWS contexts like Security Groups and Network ACLs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or significant equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud) to provide strategic cloud flexibility.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks like HIPAA, GDPR, or SOC.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and serverless computing models.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban.
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Solutions Architect - Professional certification is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and management of cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
  • Oversee a team of DevOps engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance reviews.
  • Foster a collaborative environment between development, operations, and other teams to ensure seamless software deployment and infrastructure management.
  • Architect, deploy, and maintain complex AWS environments, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, adhering to AWS Well-Architected Framework best practices.
  • Implement and manage high availability, disaster recovery, and security solutions across AWS services.
  • Champion the implementation of CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices with tools like Terraform, Ansible, and AWS CloudFormation for provisioning & configuration management.
  • Develop and maintain automation for provisioning, deployment, and scaling of cloud resources.
  • Implement monitoring and logging solutions using AWS CloudWatch, X-Ray, and other tools to ensure system health and performance.
  • Ensure AWS environments comply with industry standards and internal security policies.
  • Drive initiatives for process improvement, automation, and innovation in cloud operations.
  • Lead the troubleshooting efforts in case of outages or performance issues, coordinating with various teams for resolution.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for incident response.
