Visit our website to learn more about our competitive benefit programs – https://resers.com/careers/#benefits Reser’s Fine Foods – Job Description Title: Distribution Center (DC) Operations Lead Location: Kansas, North Carolina, and Oregon Reports to: DC Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Summary: The DC Operations Lead plays a key role in supporting distribution center (DC) operations and its customer-facing activities. This is a lead-level role, equivalent in scope and responsibility to a DC or MFG Shop Floor Lead. The DC Operations Lead is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, decision-making authority, and cross-functional influence, directly impacting operational efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction. The position ensures accurate system updates and effective communication across the supply chain (Manufacturing, Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, Carriers). It helps the Manager and Supervisors coordinate work, including receiving, inventory control, shipping, and logistics functions. Working closely with DC management and hourly teams, the DC Operations Lead prioritizes tasks, maintains system and paperwork integrity, and supports the efficient execution of DC tasks. Depending on the DC size, responsibilities may be split across shifts or inbound and outbound functions; however, the DC Operations Lead must be capable of managing all the essential functions listed below to be effective.

Requirements

  • High school degree.
  • Distribution center shop floor experience.
  • System administration experience, including ERP, WMS, and productivity tools (MS or Google Suites).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with PC applications and typing.
  • Organization and coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of warehousing and logistics operations.
  • Prolonged period of sitting and computer use.
  • Occasional walking, bending, and lifting of light office supplies (up to 20 lbs.).
  • Ability to work in a typical office environment with standard temperatures.
  • Full-time position with 40 hours a week.
  • Different shifts, including a 2nd shift (evening/night) and a weekend shift.
  • Potential for overtime available/scheduled during peaks and for coverage requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Outbound Coordination a. Schedule and dispatch outbound shipments, prioritize tasks, and coordinate with logistics. b. Ensure accurate processing of shipments: waving, picking, loading, invoicing, and billing. c. Prevent shortages and chargebacks through proactive issue resolution.
  • Inventory and Compliance Management a. Safeguard inventory and financial integrity across all transactions. b. Track CHEP pallet inventory for all receipts and shipments. c. Manage inventory holds, allocation, rotation, and disposition. d. Support audits (inventory, quality, safety) and provide transactional data for analysis.
  • Inbound and Documentation Oversight a. Coordinate inbound scheduling and receiving, including transfers and DRP leads. b. Ensure precise handling of customs and border paperwork to avoid fines and delays. c. Oversee temperature-controlled device documentation for food safety compliance.
  • System and Communication Support a. Maintain system accuracy, resolve bridge errors, and update reports. b. Provide real-time updates in YMS (Yard View) and Carrier Management (Open Dock). c. Communicate last-minute changes and discrepancies promptly. d. Submit IT tickets and support data requests as needed.
  • Team Coordination and Productivity a. Direct daily warehouse tasks in collaboration with Supervisors. b. Coordinate work assignments to maintain site productivity. c. Assist with recovery efforts and ensure clear communication across teams.
