The Goddard School of Downtown Pittsburgh , a premium childcare and daycare center , is searching for a passionate Lead or Assistant Teacher to join our full-time team with comprehensive benefits. Located on 5th Ave. , our school has served the families of Pittsburgh for over 10 years , providing a vibrant environment for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and Pre-K (Pre-Kindergarten) children. We proudly welcome families from surrounding areas such as Monroeville, Robinson, Mt. Washington, Shady Side, South Hills, North Hills, and Mt. Lebanon. Requirements

  • PA Teaching Certificate
  • 1–2 years of previous experience preferred
  • Successfully completed state-required pre-service training
  • Ability to develop relationships and communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Ability to calmly manage stressful situations while multitasking
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. (for child safety and emergency situations)
  • For Infant and Young Toddler Teachers , must be able to safely lift infants in and out of cribs
  • Meets background check eligibility requirements

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the daily operations of assigned classrooms
  • Planning, presenting, and evaluating educational and recreational activities
  • Maintaining a safe, nurturing, and positive environment
  • Working directly with children and parents daily to provide quality customer service
