About The Position

The position involves essential duties and responsibilities related to maintaining cleanliness and order in the building and its premises. The role includes supervising cleaning crews, ensuring the building's facilities are operational, and performing various cleaning tasks. The job is structured around day and night shifts, with specific responsibilities assigned to each lead role.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, completion of GED or equivalent courses preferred.
• Previous experience as a Custodian preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with Facilities manager and prepare to hand off remaining work to the night lead.
• Supervise and work alongside evening cleaning crew.
• Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas, neat and clean at all times.
• Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide appropriate temperatures and ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity.
• Check daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during building occupancy hours.
• Sweep classrooms daily and dust furniture.
• Clean corridors after school each day, and during the day when their condition requires it.
• Scrub, hose down, and disinfect toilet floors daily, and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
• Wash all windows on both inside and outside at least twice each year, and more frequently if necessary.
• Keep the grounds free from rubbish.
• Clean all dry erase boards at least once a week.
• Report major repairs needed promptly to the Facilities Manager.
