About The Position

The successful candidate will be a part of the Global Oracle DBA team with focus on performance tuning, troubleshooting, design, deployment, and production support of Oracle database in a fast paced and dynamic environment. This role requires strong technical, organizational, and analytical skills. You will be responsible for ensuring Oracle Database is performant, secure and stable. You will be expected to troubleshoot and resolve incidents and problems. This role will help design and implement future database and application solution strategy, technical design, architecture, and support for carrying out the implementation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in administering Oracle RAC database
• 4+ years oracle database development
• 2+ years' experience with database and system internals and performance tuning.
• Knowledge in Exadata operation
• B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in writing, tuning and analyzing queries and stored procedures
• Experience with managing and troubleshooting databases in high performance, multi-user applications.
• Proven experience in database design for performance, security and scalability.
• Excellent technical problem-solving skills and aptitude to learn new technologies and methodologies.
• Professionalism, positive outlook, respect and courtesy to customers and all associates.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Documentation skills for processes and procedures (creating KBs, runbooks, topology, etc.)
• Demonstrate proficiency in managing large databases

Responsibilities

• Deep knowledge of oracle database server internals
• Expert skills in writing SQL plus, window functions, set operators, pivoting/unpivoting, grouping sets, as well as building complex stored procedures
• In-depth knowledge on analyzing query plans, can optimize and fine tune complex queries and stored procedures
• Ability to operate in the high-pressure environment and troubleshoot complex issues quickly, and successfully handle multiple priorities.
• Excellent programming and problem-solving skills with an aptitude to learn and apply new technology skills
• Work closely with Developers and provide guidance
• Troubleshoot database performance issues and recommend solutions
• Provide production support for database environment in accordance with agreed service levels, standards, and processes
• Cover all aspects of Availability, Scalability, Performance and Security for Databases.
• Work closely with infrastructure personnel, providing technical input to application design of solutions for business and infrastructure projects
• Assist in the evaluation, planning and delivery of the migration and upgrade of existing database applications
• Knowledge sharing and training to other team members
• Advanced level of knowledge in writing and troubleshooting Shell script
• Deep understanding of PL/SQL code development
• Team player with good attitude
• Weekend on call participation
