About The Position

Cox Automotive Corporate Services, LLC is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to design simple and scalable solutions to complex problems and deliver leading edge software products for our customers. The role involves serving as a technical leader in a collaborative team environment and contributing to the engineering efforts of data scrum teams. The Lead Data Engineer will engineer right-sized solutions for complex business problems focused on building patterns to support data pipelines, data warehousing, and data transformations. The position requires knowledge of modern software design, best practices, design patterns, and frameworks, with an understanding of application performance and maintainability. Responsibilities include performing data analytics, database design and development, influencing technical solutions, and mentoring junior members of the team. The engineer will also design and maintain data pipelines and databases, translate business requirements into data integrations, and recommend efficient data integration solutions. The role requires close collaboration with product managers and engineers to continually improve scalable data solutions and services running on DBT & Snowflake cloud platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
  • 6 years of experience in designing and implementing data integration solutions.
  • 6 years of experience with ETL or ELT processes.
  • 6 years of experience coding and scripting with Python, Shell, Batch, SQL, or Oracle (PLSQL).
  • 6 years of experience performing Data Modeling for Data Warehouse and DBMS Systems.
  • 6 years of experience in data warehousing using data warehousing tools.
  • 6 years of experience developing data analytics, including BI Report generations.
  • 1 year of experience building data applications from conception to post-implementation support.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a related field with 4 years of experience.
  • Ph.D. in a related field with 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design simple and scalable solutions to complex problems.

  • Investigate and present new emerging technologies for data solutions.
  • Mentor and assist other engineers in areas of expertise.
  • Design and maintain data pipelines and databases.
  • Translate business requirements into data integration code solutions.
  • Recommend and code efficient data integration solutions.
  • Work closely with product managers and engineers to improve data solutions.
  • Implement system data integration fixes for the data platform.
  • Monitor and support Data Solutions jobs and processes.
